Handpiece Onsite

Handpiece Onsite Warranty

Our workmanship has a 3 - 12 month warranty depending on the model and work performed.

How to maintain your handpieces:

  • Remove handpiece from your work station umbilical tubing. Then clean at connector junction with isopropyl alcohol only (do not use harsh chemicals or place in any ultrasonic cleaning units).
  • Assure that the bur is still installed, dispense 2 or 3 drops of lubricant into the air drive port, while rotating the bur between your fingers with a forward and backward motion at 1/4 turns for 5 to 10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the handpiece to the umbilcal tubing while assuring that the piece is covered with some type of bag. Run the handpiece for 30 - 45 seconds to assure the removal of any excessive lubricant from the turbine. (This should be performed on every handpiece prior to autoclaving.)
  • Once again, remove the handpiece from the umbilical tubing and place it into the autoclave.
  • Remove the handpiece from the autoclave and allow it to cool to room temperature, approximately 30-40 minutes.
  • Re-insert the bur into the handpiece, dispense 2 or 3 drops of lubricant into the air drive port, while rotating the bur between your fingers with a forward and backward motion at 1/4 turns for 5 to 10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the handpiece to the umbilcal tubing while assuring that the piece is covered with some type of bag. Run the handpiece for 30 - 45 seconds to assure the removal of any excessive lubricant from the turbine. (This should be performed on every handpiece prior to use.)

There are several lubricants in use throughout the many practices and they are at the discretion of the user. However, these should be used sparingly to prevent excessive temperatures resulting from residual oils during highspeed operation in excess of 400,000 RPM.
